Our Vets

Dr Katie Scott (BVSc)

Katie grew up in Monto, and after finishing school, she decided to chase her dream of becoming a vet. Her love of animals shines through at home as well as at the clinic, Chloe her Mini Fox Terrier and Levi her Jack Russell keep her company wherever she goes. Our Nurses

Mai Hou Nielsen

Mai is originally from Denmark, Scandinavia. She decided to travel the world in 2014, and one of her stops was a farm in Australia. There she met the ‘boy next door’, the rest is history. She is now happily married and has a daughter and son. Mai has always had a passion for animals, and ending up in Biloela seemed to be a perfect fit. Mai started working at the clinic in 2018 and is currently studying to be a vet nurse. She loves the process of learning and exploring the different aspects of the industry and meeting all our lovely patients.

As well as having her own human family, Mai also has a large furry family. She loves going for walks with her dogs Odin, Mischief and Scout. Catcher is her cat! In her spare time, Mai is busy caring for her family, helping on the farm, riding the horses and occasionally catching up with friends.

Ashleigh Johnston

Ashleigh is Thangool born and bred, she is a qualified veterinary nurse and has worked at the clinic since 2010. As a little girl, Ashleigh wanted to work with, and help animals. She is passionate about large animals and emergency care. Another aspect of her work she relishes is to see the reconnection of animals with their owners. Ashleigh enjoys the farm life and helps her family out on their property when she can, her loyal sidekicks and beloved dogs Meg, Louie, Abbey and Shiloh are always ready to lend a helping paw.

When Ashleigh is not at work she likes to stay busy catching up with friends and going to the gym. She enjoys time with her favourite friend on four legs – Bandit her horse, and they participate in different horse sports together. As an outdoorsy person, Ashleigh is often spotted motorbike riding, hiking, camping or water skiing – she loves being active and keeping busy!
