Our Facilities

Banana Shire's most complete veterinary care facility

As a purpose-built medical grade facility centrally located in Biloela, Callide Valley Vet Clinic has the exact environment necessary to treat and care for small animals on site, and, with access to a farm a few minutes out of town, larger animals can be treated and provided with personalised care.

The clinic has a large air-conditioned waiting room, so if need be, pets waiting to be seen by the vet can have a little bit of space for themselves.  There is a full, sterilised surgery, and two other treatment rooms as well as two consultation rooms.  All small animals that need overnight attention are housed on site, and where necessary, our staff will stay overnight, or have regular checks on the animals in care.  As a pet owner, you can rest assured that your pet is in the best hands.

There is ample parking out front and at the side of the clinic, along with easy access.

Surgeries and procedures

Safe and successful procedures for our animal patients is our priority. We have a well-equipped operating room with appropriate lighting, ventilation, and sterile instruments, as well as trained and experienced veterinarians and veterinary nurses to perform the surgery and monitor the animal’s vital signs during the procedure.

We have a dedicated veterinary nurse to monitor anaesthesia, with access to ECG and blood pressure monitoring equipment to ensure the animal’s cardiovascular and respiratory functions remain stable. In addition, we have a well-stocked pharmacy to provide pre- and post-operative medications, as well as aesthetic agents.

A high level of hygiene and sanitation is maintained to minimize the risk of infection and have protocols in place to manage any complications that may arise during the surgery, including access to emergency drugs and equipment.

Post-operative care, including monitoring of the animal’s vital signs, wound management, pain management, and physical therapy as necessary is available. Our staff provide clear instructions to the pet owner on how to care for their animal at home following the surgery and are available to answer any questions or concerns.

With the state-of-the-art equipment, diagnostics can be done onsite to ensure that your pet is given the very best chance of accurate diagnosis, best treatment and quick recovery.

Overnight Stays

If your furry friend has a need to stay overnight, there is a treatment vet available 24/7.  There is around the clock care as needed, including urgent and critical care. The animal’s comfort, safety, and recovery is paramount. A quiet, temperature-controlled, and hygienic environment with soft bedding and fresh water is provided. The pet’s vital signs are closely monitored, and pain medication and antibiotics are administered as prescribed by the veterinarian. Post-operative care, including wound management and physical therapy, are offered to facilitate the animal’s healing process. The staff are available to answer any questions or concerns. The clinic has protocols in place to handle any emergencies that may arise during the pet’s overnight stay.
